Dr Junhong Yan

Position: Scientist at Helia Biomonitoring, Molecular biochemist by training
Role in CONSENSE: Supervisor of ESR14, industry advisor of ESR15; lead WP3.

I am excited to be part of the CONSENSE consortium. I appreciate the unique opportunity to work with experts from different areas of biosensors so that the state-of-the-art technologies from academia can be applied in real life. I hope I will learn and contribute a lot working in this consortium.

Lead of technology development at Helia Biomonitoring focused on prototyping and assay development.
Dr. Yan received her BSc degree in biotechnology from Fudan University in Shanghai in 2008. She got her MSc degree in 2010 and her PhD in 2015 on DNA-assisted Immunoassays from Uppsala University in Sweden in 2015. There she developed highly sensitive and specific methods for protein detection and profiling in complex matrices. Thereafter she started as a postdoc in the Molecular Biosensing group at TU/e and was awarded an Individual Marie Curie fellowship. During her postdoc, she developed a particle-based sensing principle that can be applied in continuous monitoring of biomolecules. Dr. Yan is co-founder of Helia Biomonitoring and leads technology development at Helia.
